On 19/05/2023, TruScreen Vietnam in collaboration with Hanoi Obstetrics & Gynecology Hospital organized the “Cervical Cancer Screening – Reality and Trends” Seminar. The seminar was attended by the preside – MSc. Level 2 specialist Do Khac Huynh – Deputy Director of the hospital and the reporter- MSc. Dr. Nguyen Canh Chuong – Director of Training and Direction of Healthcare Activities Center with doctors and medical staff in the Northern region.
The seminar had two main contents:
- “Cervical Cancer Screening – Reality and Trends” – MSc. Dr. Nguyen Canh Chuong, Director of Training and Direction of Healthcare Activities Center, Hanoi Obstetrics & Gynecology Hospital
- “Cervical cancer screening with TruScreen Optical – Electrical technology” – Mrs. Nguyen Phuong Thao, Technician of TruScreen Vietnam
At the seminar, MSc. Dr. Nguyen Canh Chuong reported on a new approach to cervical cancer prevention. He revealed that cervical cancer was the second most common malignancy in women, accounting for 9.8% of all cancers in women. HPV is one of the most transmitted sexually transmitted infections, resulting of 5% of all cancers worldwide, and 87% of cervical cancer cases. The new approach to cervical cancer prevention is to focus on routine cancer screening.
Attending the seminar, doctors and medical staffs were updated more about the advanced cervical cancer screening technique from Australia – TruScreen Optical – Electrical Technique. This is an accurate, fast and user-friendly cervical cancer screening method. Until now, Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital has applied TruScreen Optical – Electric technique in cervical cancer screening at the hospital for 3 years. In May 2023, besides organizing the seminar for doctors of lower-level hospitals, TruScreen Vietnam has organized technical training for new doctors of the hospital (especially those in Branch 2 and Branch 3 of the hospital) with the free screening program for cervical cancer screening for 500 citizens.
