Ho Chi Minh City Oncology Hospital introduced “Solution for cervical cancer screening with fast results”

Ho Chi Minh City Oncology Hospital and TruScreen Vietnam organized a seminar on “Solution for cervical cancer screening with fast results” for the hospital’s doctors on September 11, 2020.

In the seminar, doctors focused on two reports as follow:

• Report 1: Review and improve cervical cancer screening – Dr. Specialist I Nguyen Anh Tho, Department of Cancer Screening, HCMC Oncology Hospital.
• Report 2: Cervical cancer screening with the TruScreen device – MSc. Specialist I Tran Nhat Huy, Lecturer in Obstetrics Department of Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy.

During the seminar, doctors listened to the reports and discussed about the cervical cancer screening work at the hospital with each other. From there, doctors learnt and updated more knowledge to perform better screening work in the future.

In the next part, the new technology – Optical-Electrical TruScreen were first introduced to doctors HCMC Oncology Hospital, which has a function to detect early signs of cervical cancer. With Optical and Electrical technology, this new non-invasive method transmits signals to the cervical epithelium. After that, AI technology will analyze them quickly and display the results immediately.

In addition to its advanced features, the TruScreen Ultra is a portable device that is easy to transport and operate. By using this new technology, medical facilities can save on training costs as well as costs in infrastructure in laboratories. In order to screen cervical cancer, doctors can manipulate the device easily and use it.

The HCMC Oncology Hospital is a hospital under the Department of Health of Ho Chi Minh City and one of the leading facilities in cancer-related examinations and treatment in Vietnam. The Oncology Hospital also manages lower-level hospitals in terms of technical expertise, as well as coordinates with medical facilities for cancer prevention and propaganda.

After the successful seminar, TruScreen Vietnam conducted a training program and transferred Optical-Electrical technology to the Oncology Hospital doctors in October 2020. From 05/2021 to 04/2022, HCMC Oncology Hospital has carried out an intensive research program on TruScreen Optical-Electrical technique with 400 patients participating.
