Science and Technology Conference 2020: New method in cervical cancer screening – Truscreen

TruScreen – the new method in cervical cancer screening was introduced at the Scientific and Technical Conference 2020. The conference was organized by Tien Giang Gynecology and Obstetrics Hospital.

On December 23, 2020, Tien Giang Gynecology and Obstetrics Hospital held a Scientific and Technology Conference with the participation of doctors from Tu Du Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho Hospital, Long An Hospital, and Tien Giang Gynecology and Obstetrics Hospital. The conference is held annually towards the goal of improving the diagnosis and treatment quality, serving more and more effectively health care in the field of obstetrics and gynecology.

Seven scientific topics were reported at the conference by doctors at Tien Giang Gynecology and Obstetrics Hospital and Tu Du Hospital. Topics include prevention of miscarriage, diagnosis and treatment of ovarian tumors, and evaluation of prenatal screening results, etc. This was a very valuable experience for doctors to update and apply their knowledge of diagnosis and treatment in obstetrics and gynecology.

One of the interesting topics in this conference was “New method in cervical cancer screening – TruScreen” reported by Ph.D. Doctor. Le Quang Thanh – Director of Tu Du Hospital. TruScreen is a new method using Optical – Electrical technology to detect early potentially malignant cells that are at risk of developing into cervical cancer. By combining intelligent AI technology, the device will synthesize data and provide screening results in one visit. 

Besides introducing the method principles, the reporter emphasized advantages of cervical cancer screening with the TruScreen Optical – Electrical technology. The device has a compact design, easy operation which saves on lab setup costs. This brings benefits to deploy TruScreen at all levels of healthcare as well as in the community.

Tien Giang Gynecology and Obstetrics Hospital is a specialized obstetrics hospital in Tien Giang province, and is one of the satellite hospitals of Tu Du Hospital. In recent years, Tien Giang Gynecology and Obstetrics Hospital has been well implementing specialized techniques to serve the treatment of patients in the province.

Up to now, TruScreen Vietnam has had the opportunity to train and pilot the TruScreen Optical – Electrical technique at Tien Giang Gynecology and Obstetrics Hospital. TruScreen Vietnam is in the process of preparing to evaluate the pilot results and promote the official application of the TruScreen Optical-Electric technique at Tien Giang Gynecology and Obstetrics Hospital.
