On 25/3/2021, TruScreen Vietnam held the “Training on TruScreen Optical – Electrical Technology applied in cervical cancer detection” seminar.
Attending the seminar were obstetricians, gynecologists and medical students practicing at the hospital. Specialist level II, Dr. Phan Huu Chinh – Director of the Hospital encouraged doctors to regularly update new techniques and new technologies to improve health care for people.
At this meeting, doctors were first introduced to Australia’s TruScreen Ultra cervical cancer screening device. The device uses Optical – Electrical technology to examine not only the cervical surface epithelium but also the basal and stromal layers. Then the AI algorithm will receive signals and analyze the status of cervical tissue whether it’s normal or abnormal.
Participating in the seminar through online, Carolina Velasquez – the doctor representing TruScreen (Australia) said that AI technology also supported the device to give quick results in 3-5 minutes after the examination. Another benefit of the Optical – Electrical screening method is that female patients do not need to take a sample or not feel pain when examining with TruScreen because the device only uses a handheld device tip with an extremely low electrical pulse (0.8 volts / 350ms) for rapid screening.
Next, TruScreen Vietnam technicians instructed doctors on the operation of TruScreen Ultra. The device’s simple use with its compact design reveals that this potential technology will make it easy for doctors to transport and perform cervical cancer screening for patients in remote areas.
After the seminar, doctors practiced using TruScreen Ultra device under the guidance of TruScreen Vietnam trainer. In addition, TruScreen Vietnam also transferred Optical – Electrical technology to the Khanh Hoa General Hospital.
Khanh Hoa General Hospital is a Grade I hospital under the province Department of Health. Besides ensuring good health care for people in the province and surrounding areas, the hospital also provides health care services for international patients since the high number of international visitors to visit as well as live and work in Khanh Hoa.
